Mini Citibike — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Mini Citibike shows nearby Citibike station availability. It is built to collect nothing.
- Location is used only on your device to find the nearest stations. It is never transmitted to us or anyone else. The app caches your last position locally so the home-screen widget can show nearby stations.
- Camera is used only to scan a bike's QR code, on-device. No images are stored or transmitted. Scanned codes are only opened if they point at official Citibike/Lyft domains.
- Network requests go exclusively to Citibike's public GBFS data feeds (gbfs.lyft.com / gbfs.citibikenyc.com) to fetch station availability, to Google's Places API (places.googleapis.com) only while you type in the optional location search (your typed text and approximate area are sent to resolve it to coordinates; nothing else is included), and to Google Maps only when you tap a station for directions.
- There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers, and no third-party data sharing.
The app is open about what it does: all preferences and caches live in your device's local storage and can be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing site data.
